The site of Bruce Ismay's birthplace

Enfield House, Endbutt Lane, Crosby

The birthplace of J. Bruce Ismay was demolished in 1928 to allow Enfield Avenue to be built. The original building stood approximateley where number 3, Enfield Avenue is today(the right-hand semi- detached house shown in the picture), and the driveway to Enfield House was where the modern Enfield Avenue begins.

If anyone has a photo of the original Enfield House, Crosby,  please contact me.
